Toshiba M400 Vista RTM Drivers!!!

Finally Toshiba released drivers that work with RTM!!  Woo hoo... 

 

First insall the "driver pack" - adds support for most of the tablet hardware (buttons, rotation, etc)

then installed the bios update to 3.1 (so happy it didnt toast my notebook)

then the HDD protetion, fingerprint reader, etc...

 

All working quite nicely.  My notebook even reboots...(i use to have to force reboots before the driver updates)

not sure why toshiba didnt organize the drivers better on the page...hard to figure out what to install first or what does not apply.

Vista/Office 2007 Launch Presentation...

We got another great opportunity to present our next generation solution at the Vista/Office 2007 launch event here in Toronto.  We presented to over 600 architects.  We presented with Mohammad (a Senior Architect as MS) our partner evagilist Cigdem.

 

It was also good to run into so many familiar faces!

Winning on the Web…

Back in November I was asked by MS to be a guest speaker at an event held at the Trump National Golf Club called "Winning on the Web". It was a great opportunity as I got to be part of an elite executive panel including Allen Hurff and Aber Whitcomb from MySpace, Phil Dawley from Move.com, Walt Williams from RazorGator and Michael Platt and Architect at Microsoft. The discussion was about the Web 2.0 movement and other major forces impacting web solutions including process automation, compliance and rich user interfaces.

By the way, "Tom" on myspace is a real person J Aber confirmed it.

 

Upgraded to Vista and Office 2007 RTM w/ my Tablet M400

So i took the plunge...after some warnings from my MS buddies that the drivers for the Toshiba M400 may not be stable on the RTM release of vista...

 

Vista RC2 was stable for the first little while but then took a plunge as each week got closer to RTM...built in time-bomb or just my luck ? :)

 

So far, the new Vista RTM is faster then RC2.  The new sounds are clean and short.  Office 2007 RTM seems the same as before.  Time will tell how its changed...(i have noticed small UI differences with Office).

 

None of my M400 drivers that worked with RC2/RC1/Beta from the Toshiba website installed correctly....So im waiting for Toshiba RTM drivers for my M400.

 Another interesting thing MS is working on...Interesting to see how people are using them.  They will also show up as dedicated LCD panels on Notebooks so you can access "Windows SideShow" while your notebook is closed...such as your calendar, emaill etc.
